Black History Month at All Saints

At this time, the staff and students at All Saints are busy preparing for Black History Month. To compliment a variety of Black History themed lessons and opportunities for prayer and reflection, a number of school-wide learning experiences have been set for the month that will allow us to explore the significant contributions that those of African ancestry have made throughout history and continue to make today.

Among these events includes a motivational school assembly for our all of our students on Tuesday, February 2nd, from accomplished author, visionary, and inspirational speaker, Mr. Aubrey Clarke. Our Kindergarten to Grade 4 Virtual Assembly will be taking place at 9:35 a.m., and our Grade 5 to 8 students will be invited to a 10:40 a.m. virtual presentation.

We also feel blessed to be participating in the Reading Rainbow Assembly. All classes will join a live streamed readings of books written by Black authors on Feb. 16, 2021. The streamed readings will occur at the following times:

9:30am – Primary Division

10:30am – Junior Division

1:15pm – Intermediate Division

We are so appreciative of the students of the Afro Caribbean Culture Club (A3C) at St. Brother Andre CHS for hosting the reading. Each assembly will undoubtedly inspire hope, belief, and compassion by identifying the contributions of those of African ancestry as examples of how, with hard work, dreams can truly become a reality.
