Remote Learning Update

Please be advised that there is a change to the staggered start dates for elementary remote learning students in Kindergarten – Grade 8.

There is no change for students returning to school in person.

Please be advised that elementary remote learning will not begin according to the staggered schedule previously communicated. The following revised start dates are now in place.

REVISED START DATES FOR ELEMENTARY REMOTE LEARNING Monday, September 14: JK/SK and Grades 7-8 Tuesday, September 15: Grades 1-6

Note: Secondary remote learning students will continue to follow the schedule already communicated.

We apologize for the short notice of this change and regret any inconvenience it may cause. Staff have been working diligently to finalize in person and remote learning classes and teacher assignments. This delay to the start of our elementary remote learning will allow for necessary orientation for our elementary remote learning teachers, as well as additional time to complete preparations for our elementary remote learning classes.

We have prepared a Letter to Parents of elementary remote learning students that will help you understand what to expect in the lead up to the start of classes. It includes information on virtual learning environments, schedules, attendance, tech support and tips for the first day. You will also find the name and email address of the principal assigned to your child’s “remote learning school.”

Remote learning teachers will reach out to parents the day before classes are set to begin – either by email or telephone – to introduce themselves, and share their Virtual Learning Environment classroom link and your child’s login information.

I know this last minute change is not ideal and want to thank parents and students for their patience and understanding as we work to create the best possible learning experience for our students.

Yours in Catholic Education,

Mary Battista Interim Director
