Black History Month at AST

The staff and students at All Saints CES are busy preparing for Black History Month. To compliment a variety of Black History themed lessons and opportunities for reflection, a number of school-wide learning experiences have been set for the month that will allow us to explore the significant contributions that those of African ancestry have made throughout history and continue to do so.

Among these events includes a motivational school assembly for our K-8 students from accomplished singer and songwriter Errol Lee on February 2nd. Lee will provide our students with a compelling look at the lives of individuals of African descent whose bravery and exemplary character changed the world and made it better for us today.

On February 10th, we feel blessed to welcome award winning journalist, three time former Golden Glove Champion, and motivational speaker Spider Jones to AST. Spider will share his  inspirational life story with all of our Grade 3-8 students.  His message of hope, perseverance and the human spirit, will undoubtedly inspire our All Stars to stay true to their goals and dreams for success in life.

In addition to these wonderful partnerships, we are tremendously pleased to see student leadership in action at AST.  Our Student Council’s daily contribution of a Black History Month Excellence video segment to our virtual morning announcements has been truly inspiring to all.

Welcome Errol and Spider to the AST Family!
